Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez highlighted the scale of the climate crisis by drawing attention to the destruction caused by the extreme weather events and wildfires affecting the country.

Referring to this summer's wildfire toll, Sanchez said, "This year, wildfires have already devastated more than 100,000 hectares. The climate emergency cannot be denied or delayed."

Sharing details of the new financial support package for SMEs as part of the fight against climate change, Prime Minister Sanchez said, "Today, we are announcing a new €300 million funding facility to support innovation in our SMEs in the fight against climate change. This fund will help us produce more cleanly and efficiently, adapt our manufacturing sector to the new climate reality, and develop technologies to combat extreme weather events."

Emphasizing the importance of protecting Spain, Sanchez stated, "Protecting Spain is not only about responding to emergencies; it is also about anticipating them."
