Sanchez: With this government, not one step back on social rights
Madrid, October 3 (Hibya) – Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, speaking about women’s right to abortion, said: “With this government, not one step back on social rights.”
Prime Minister Sanchez emphasized that the main opposition, the center-right People’s Party (PP), had decided to unite with the far right, saying: “That’s their choice. They can do it. But not at the expense of women’s freedoms and rights.”
Sanchez stated that they will prevent the spread of misleading or unscientific information about abortion; for this purpose, they will reform Royal Decree 825/2010, and added:
“We will present a proposal to Parliament to constitutionally guarantee the right to abortion in line with the case law of the Constitutional Court. With this government, not one step back on social rights.”
