Spanish Prime Minister Sanchez: The priority is to save lives
Madrid, November 2 (Hibya) - Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez stated that the government is helping regional authorities with every request and that their priority is to save lives.
Prime Minister Sanchez noted that the government is assisting regional authorities with every request and that their priority is to save lives, saying, “We have activated the largest deployment to date, which has carried out 4,800 rescues and assisted over 30,000 people in flooded homes, roads, and industrial areas.”
Sanchez emphasized that the scale of the disaster rendered these efforts insufficient: “This is why I am pleased with President Mazón's decision to increase the military personnel request from 500 to 5,000. The state will immediately organize this deployment. In addition, today 5,000 national police and additional civil guards will be deployed, totaling 10,000 troops.”
