Sybiha: Tourism will inevitably be an important part of our recovery
Kyiv, August 15 (Hibya) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha emphasized the importance of the tourism sector and educational support for veterans in the country's reconstruction process during a meeting with a UN Tourism delegation.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that on the 975th anniversary of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, he met with Shaikha Al Nuwais and discussed opportunities for cooperation between Ukraine and UN Tourism, as well as practical steps to expand activities in the country.
Highlighting the role of tourism in economic recovery, Minister Sybiha said, "Ukraine has a lot to show the world, and we need to open Ukraine up more to the world. Tourism will inevitably be an important part of our recovery; it will bring people back to our cities and regions, create jobs and support local communities."
Providing information on educational opportunities and scholarship support for veterans, Sybiha said, "I especially thanked Shaikha Al Nuwais for her support for Ukrainian veterans. Two hundred veterans will have the opportunity to study at the UN Tourism Online Academy, and a total of 500 scholarships are planned for Ukrainians."
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sybiha concluded his remarks by saying, "We welcome UN Tourism initiatives for Ukrainian veterans, particularly in education and professional development, as well as broader cooperation with Ukraine in our reconstruction and recovery process."
