Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani made a statement about his meeting with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Administrator Alexander De Croo.

Tajani said, "In the meeting this morning with UNDP Administrator Alexander De Croo, I reaffirmed Italy's commitment to the most fragile contexts in the world. From Gaza to Sudan to the Sahel, Italy plays a leading role in international initiatives for peace and stability."

Referring to Italy's strategic vision for Africa, the "Mattei Plan", Tajani said, "We aim to strengthen the private sector and agricultural-food supply chains to boost entrepreneurship in Africa, and to increase our commitment to crisis management and reconstruction interventions to support the stability and recovery of conflict-affected communities."

Tajani concluded his statement by saying, "We want to play an increasingly active role by strengthening Rome’s role as an international center for development institutions and as a strategic center for multilateral dialogue on Africa."
