Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani stated that he strongly condemned the new Russian attack on Ukraine last night that resulted in fatalities, adding that Italy would continue to firmly support Kyiv until a just and lasting peace is achieved.

Expressing his support for Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and the Ukrainian people, Tajani said: "I express my full solidarity with Andrii Sybiha and with the Ukrainian people, who are the victims of this unacceptable violence."

Emphasizing that Russia must act in accordance with international law, Minister Tajani said: "Russia must put an end to these attacks and act as a responsible member of the international community. The Italian Government will continue to firmly support Kyiv until a just and lasting peace is secured."
