Trump: Data centers should generate their own electricity and pay dividends to communities
Washington, October 21 (Hibya) - United States (US) President Donald Trump announced that new, large-scale data centers would be required to generate their own electricity and provide or sell surplus power to local communities or the grid. Trump stated, "If companies want to make their data centers popular, they should pay a 'dividend' to the community and/or individuals within that community."
US President Donald Trump made a statement regarding the impact of data centers on electricity prices. Saying that he was closely monitoring data centers, Trump stated that new, large-scale facilities should generate their own electricity and provide or sell any surplus power to local communities or the electricity grid.
Trump said the measure could prevent electricity prices from rising and might even lead to a significant reduction. He also emphasized the importance of data center companies reaching financial agreements with local communities.
Trump noted that public attitudes toward data centers had become more positive in some areas following financial agreements. He urged companies to "Make deals and get them built."
