Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna shared his assessments regarding the recent military developments in the region and the parties’ approaches to a ceasefire.

Recalling Russia’s recent attacks and its demand, Tsahkna said, “While Russia carried out missile and drone attacks against Ukraine a few days ago, it is now asking for a pause in the fighting for a ‘parade’.”

Referring to Ukraine’s position and expectations toward Russia, Tsahkna stated, “Ukraine, on the other hand, is offering a real ceasefire that would come into effect starting tonight.”

Tsahkna added, “Now is the time for Russia to show that it is serious about peace and not merely making a symbolic move for ‘celebrations’.”
