Tsahkna: Supporting Ukraine is an investment in our future
Tallinn, April 29 (Hibya) – Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna emphasized during his meeting in Tallinn with Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys that support for Ukraine and the enlargement of the European Union (EU) are crucial for Europe’s future.

Focusing on Europe’s future and the enlargement process, Tsahkna said: “We agree that continuing support for Ukraine and EU enlargement are at the core of Europe’s future.”
Referring to the EU enlargement process, Tsahkna stated: “Without Ukraine, there will be no stronger Europe, and without progress in enlargement, there will be no progress. EU enlargement is not just a process, but a strategic investment in stability, prosperity, and resilience across our continent.”
Emphasizing security investments and policy toward Russia, Tsahkna said: “We also highlighted the importance of continuing to exert pressure on Russia. Supporting Ukraine is an investment in our own security and future.”
Noting that discussions will continue, Tsahkna added: “We will continue this work this evening at the NB8 foreign ministers’ meeting in Kuressaare.”
