UAE Ministry of Defense announces interception of 123 drones
Abu Dhabi, March 3 (Hibya) – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministry of Defense announced that a total of 186 ballistic missiles and 812 unmanned aerial vehicles were detected during attacks carried out by Iran; as a result of the attacks, 3 people were killed and 68 were injured.
The UAE Ministry of Defense (MoD) published a detailed report on the large-scale air attacks targeting the country’s territory.
The Ministry stated that air defense systems neutralized 11 ballistic missiles and 123 drones, while one missile fell within the country without causing any casualties.
The Ministry reported that 812 Iranian drones were detected, of which 755 were intercepted and 57 fell within the country’s borders. It also announced that 8 cruise missiles were detected and destroyed.
As a result of the attacks, several civilians were harmed; three individuals from Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh lost their lives, and 68 people – nationals of the UAE, Egypt, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon and Afghanistan – sustained minor injuries.
The Ministry confirmed that the sounds heard in various regions across the country were caused by interception operations carried out by air defense systems against ballistic missiles, as well as by fighter jets targeting drones and cruise missiles.
