UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Türk: We must reform the global financial system
New York, October 31 (Hibya) - United Nations (UN) High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk said that the global financial system must be reformed to ensure that development financing benefits everyone.
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Türk highlighted that over 40% of people live in countries where more is spent on debt repayment than on education or health.
Türk described this as a failure in human rights, stating, “We must reform the global financial system to ensure that development financing benefits everyone.”
