UNRWA: Humanitarian needs in Gaza at critical levels
New York, February 13 (Hibya) - The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) reported that displaced civilians in Gaza are struggling with severe humanitarian conditions.
The statement quoted Mohammed, a father of two, who said his family is struggling to survive in a tent. Mohammed noted that his children frequently fall ill, adding, “As a father, the hardest part is not being able to protect them.”
It was stated that the tent set up as temporary shelter does not provide adequate protection against insects, rodents, cold weather, and diseases. Serious shortages continue in key areas in Gaza, particularly food, shelter, and healthcare services.
UNRWA emphasized that humanitarian needs remain at critical levels and called for allowing large-scale humanitarian aid to enter Gaza in proportion to the needs.
