UNRWA: More than 1 million children in Gaza suffer from trauma
New York, October 3 (Hibya) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) announced that more than 1 million children in Gaza are suffering from trauma and are in need of mental health and psychosocial support.
According to UNRWA’s statement, going to school, eating chocolate, and playing football are among the wishes of children in Gaza.
It was emphasized that these should be part of everyday life for all children, but more than 1 million children in Gaza are traumatized and need mental health and psychosocial support.
UNRWA remains the largest provider of such assistance across the Gaza Strip, and since October 2023, its psychosocial support activities have reached more than half a million children.
