The United States (US) Department of State approved possible military sales to Saudi Arabia and Oman worth a combined approximately $5.94 billion.

According to the department’s statement, Saudi Arabia requested the purchase of JDAM-ER guidance kits and related equipment worth approximately $5 billion.

The package was also said to include 5,004 BLU-111 500-kilogram general-purpose bombs and 5,000 BLU-1117 2,000-pound general-purpose bombs.

The proposed sale to Saudi Arabia was also reported to include AGT-1500 engines and related equipment worth approximately $750 million.

The US Department of State also approved the possible sale to Oman of F-16 sustainment services and related equipment worth approximately $188 million.

The administration was reported to have submitted the foreign military sales notifications to the House of Representatives and the Senate for congressional review.
