Meeting held in Pakistan as part of preparations for South Asian Games
Islamabad, September 5 (Hibya) – Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a Steering Committee meeting as part of preparations for the 2027 South Asian Games.

According to a statement from Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as part of work carried out in coordination with the South Asian Olympic Committee, it was decided that the games would be held from April 4 to 11, 2027.
The meeting also approved the appointment of a National Coordinator and the formation of the Steering, Organizing and Provincial Committees. More than 6,000 athletes and officials are expected to participate in competitions across a total of 28 sports.
The games are planned to be held in Islamabad as well as in the provinces of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Dar instructed the relevant institutions to work in coordination to ensure that preparations are completed on time, facilities are made ready and the event is successfully organized.
It was decided that the Steering Committee would meet every month to assess progress in preparations.
