Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic congratulated Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on her historic leadership achievement, emphasizing the strategic and friendly ties between the two neighboring countries.

Congratulating Meloni on the length of her tenure, Plenkovic said, “I congratulate Giorgia Meloni on her historic achievement — today she became the longest-serving Prime Minister in the history of the post-war Italian Republic.”

Referring to bilateral and multilateral relations between the two countries, Plenkovic said, “As neighboring countries, Croatia and Italy enjoy close and friendly relations, and Giorgia Meloni has made an important contribution to strengthening our cooperation. We confirmed this during our visit to Rome last November and through our cooperation within the EU Council and NATO.”

Plenkovic concluded his statement by saying, “Dear Giorgia, I wish you great success in the continuation of your term, for the benefit of all of Europe.”
