Weeks of attacks plunge Ukrainian cities into darkness
Stockholm, April 4 (Hibya) - Russia continues its attacks on Ukraine's electricity supply. Since March 22, new attacks targeting the country's energy infrastructure have been almost daily.
Odessa, Lviv and Kharkiv have been subjected to Russian missile and drone strikes that directly targeted critical energy infrastructure, often substations.
In Kharkiv in eastern Ukraine, recent attacks have led to long power outages and blackouts. The city's mayor, Ihor Terekhov, described their plight in an interview with the Ukrainian news website Liga.
"Almost all important energy infrastructure has been destroyed. The situation for the energy sector is very difficult right now.'' he said.
