White House: Biden-Harris Administration in Constant Communication with Local Officials
Washington, January 8 (Hibya) - The White House announced that the Biden-Harris Administration is in constant communication with officials to support efforts to combat wildfires in Southern California.
According to a White House statement, following President Joe Biden’s instructions, the Biden-Harris Administration supports efforts to combat wildfires in Southern California, maintaining constant communication with California Governor Newsom, Los Angeles Mayor Bass, their teams, affected counties, and other local officials.
The statement noted that the President has also directed the Department of Defense to provide additional firefighting personnel and capabilities:
“Additionally, two units of the Modular Airborne Firefighting System from the California and Nevada National Guards are being deployed, and 10 naval helicopters equipped with water buckets are en route from San Diego. The President reiterated his call for residents in the region to remain vigilant and heed the warnings of local authorities.”
