The World Health Organization (WHO) stated that violence against children is widespread and leads to serious health issues such as depression, eating disorders, high-risk sexual behaviours, unwanted pregnancies, and harmful use of tobacco, alcohol, and drugs.
WHO stated that to prevent violence against children, they are working to raise awareness about the harmful effects of violence on health, collecting data to inform effective policies and interventions, and training professionals to recognize and respond to signs of violence.
