WHO: War in Sudan has driven the Zemzam camp in North Darfur into famine
Geneva, August 2 (Hibya) - The World Health Organization (WHO) announced that the war in Sudan has driven the Zemzam camp in North Darfur into famine.
In a statement, the WHO said that violence in Sudan has driven the Zemzam camp in North Darfur, which houses more than 500,000 people, into famine.
The WHO provided the following information about the famine:
"Famine means that at least 1 in 5 people or households are experiencing extreme food shortages and facing hunger and deprivation, resulting in extremely critical levels of acute malnutrition and death."
