WHO: We can work for a world where everyone reaches their destination safely
Geneva, February 18 (Hibya) - The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, stated that together they can work for a world where everyone reaches their destination safely.
The WHO Director-General, Ghebreyesus, announced that around 1.2 million people lose their lives on the world's roads each year.
He noted that some embarked on a routine journey, but it turned out to be their last, adding:
"My call to the ministers attending the 4th Ministerial Conference on Road Safety: Solutions are not always easy or popular, but we know they work, save lives, and represent a good long-term investment in sustainability and productivity."
Ghebreyesus emphasized: "Together, we can work for a world where everyone reaches their destination safely."
