Ukrainian President Zelensky announced that he had a meeting with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.

Stating that the Russian army did not stop its brutal attacks on Ukraine during Christmas Eve and Christmas night, Zelensky said, "They targeted our energy infrastructure and civilians. As a result of these attacks, many cities and villages are experiencing power outages."

Zelensky also mentioned that Russian troops had attacked cities in the eastern part of the country again during the daytime, and said:

"During our meeting, emergency aid was being provided to civilians wounded in a Russian drone attack targeting an ordinary residential building in Chernihiv. During our discussion, an extremely appropriate assessment was made of this situation. Unfortunately, we are facing barbarians who don't even believe in God. Russia has become this today and does not even feel ashamed of it. On the contrary, it is trying to make the desire to kill the so-called foundation of its national pride."

Zelensky added, "Against this war and aggression carried out by Russia, we will continue our fight in every field to defend our lives, the lives of Ukrainians, and the lives of all people suffering because of this war."
