Zelensky: Contributions to the PURL program have reached $1.5 billion
Kyiv, May 29 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that contributions to the PURL initiative, which includes 28 countries led by Japan, have reached approximately $1.5 billion since the beginning of the year.
Zelensky thanked Japan for its contributions to the PURL initiative and emphasized that Japan has provided significant humanitarian and financial support to Ukraine since the first days of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
Zelensky also thanked all countries contributing to the PURL program, noting that Norway, the Netherlands, Canada, Bulgaria, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Spain, Sweden, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, and Iceland were among the countries that contributed this year. He added that some contributions had not been publicly disclosed and that total support had reached approximately $1.5 billion since the start of the year.
The Ukrainian leader stated that 28 countries have participated in the program so far and stressed the importance of maintaining international solidarity, thanking all partner countries.
