Zelensky holds meeting on sanctions policy
Kyiv, September 30 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he held a meeting on sanctions policy.
President Zelensky stated that at the meeting on sanctions policy, NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov and Sanctions Policy Commissioner Vladyslav Vlasiuk presented a report on new sanction steps and synchronization with partners.
He noted that in September alone, five sanction decisions were taken against the Russian military-industrial complex, the shadow fleet, and organizations assisting the energy sector; as well as against propagandists, pro-Russian actors in Moldova, and individuals serving the occupiers in temporarily occupied Crimea.
“We also synchronized the UK sanctions within Ukrainian jurisdiction. In total, sanctions were imposed on 166 individuals and 127 legal entities. This month, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand also took important steps to block everything that enables Russia to continue its aggression – individuals and organizations, companies, price caps, and shadow fleet tankers.”
Zelensky added: “I instructed preparations for the extension of sanctions that are expiring and for accelerating their synchronization with our partners. The pressure must be truly effective. We expect swift action from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other state institutions to support this effort.”
