Ukrainian President Zelensky said in a statement on social media that Russia is targeting media organizations and journalists.

Zelensky said a Russian attack drone struck the building of the “We Are Ukraine” television channel, which broadcasts as part of the United News telethon. He said the attack took place during the daytime while journalists were live on air and that the building was partially destroyed.

Zelensky said the necessary teams were dispatched to the scene and that personnel from Ukraine's State Emergency Service extinguished the fire. He said 5 people had so far been reported injured and that the number of casualties could rise.

Zelensky argued that the targeting of the media with “Shahed”-type drones represented “a new page in Russia's degradation,” adding that Europe and the world must respond to the attack.

Zelensky said no attack against Ukraine and Ukrainians should go unpunished, adding that Russia can only be stopped through joint efforts.
