Zelensky: Sanctions must remain in place and be continuously tightened
Prague, May 5 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia rejects a real ceasefire, and therefore sanctions against the war must remain in place and be continuously tightened.
Zelensky met with Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala on the anniversary of the Prague Uprising.
He said he briefed Fiala on the battlefield situation: “Russia rejects a real ceasefire, so sanctions must remain in place and be continually reinforced.”
Zelensky noted that they discussed cooperation at the European and Euro-Atlantic institutional levels, energy cooperation, nuclear production development, and joint infrastructure projects:
“It’s important to implement everything that holds potential. We deeply appreciate the Czech Republic’s assistance in rebuilding our medical facilities and supporting our veterans. I also want to highlight the government’s efforts toward the Ukrainian community in the Czech Republic. A Ukrainian Center is being prepared in Prague – a center for our national life in the Czech Republic, a place to deepen the ties between Ukraine and Czechia.”
