Zelenskyy: Ukraine will always be independent
Kyiv, August 24 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a statement marking the 35th anniversary of his country’s independence that Ukraine would safeguard its independence. Zelenskyy announced that state awards would be presented to military personnel and civilians who contributed to preserving the country’s independence.
Zelenskyy said that 35 years have passed since Ukraine declared its independence.
Stating that Ukrainians have protected the country’s independence, Zelenskyy said they would continue to defend Ukraine’s independence.
Zelenskyy said Ukraine would always be independent, adding that Ukrainians would not become bargaining chips in disputes between the capitals of different countries and would not submit to things they do not believe in.
Zelenskyy said state awards would be presented on the occasion of Ukraine’s most important national holiday, adding that the awards would be given to people who contributed to the country’s continued existence and influenced its future.
Zelenskyy said the recipients would include not only military personnel but also civilians who continue working to protect Ukraine’s existence, its freedom and the country’s name.
