Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa attended a dialogue session organized by the Atlantic Council as part of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

In a statement, the Syrian Presidency said the session addressed Syria’s future as well as prominent political and economic issues.

According to the statement, al-Sharaa reviewed efforts to build state institutions, strengthen Syria’s sovereignty and preserve its territorial integrity during the session.

Al-Sharaa also shared his views on guaranteeing the rights of all components of Syrian society, Syria’s position on foreign military presence and the ongoing Israeli attacks on Syrian territory.

Diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a lasting peace that would ensure the restoration of Syria’s rights were also discussed during the session.

Syria’s relations with countries in the region were also assessed. Syria’s strategic position in strengthening economic and trade links, as well as strategic projects for transporting oil through Syrian territory and ports, were discussed.

The meeting also addressed various issues related to regional security and stability.
