Albanese: We have come a long way since 1901, but we have remained true to our values
Canberra, May 13 (Hibya) - Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese emphasized the historical legacy and social values of the Federal Labor Party in a statement marking the 125th anniversary of the party’s foundation.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese reflected on the Labor Party’s history in Australian politics on the anniversary of the first meeting held before the opening of parliament.
Referring to the party’s founding process, Albanese said, “125 years ago, the Federal Labor Party held its first meeting before the opening of our Federal Parliament. We have come a long way since 1901, but we have always remained true to our values.”
Emphasizing the party’s core principles and sense of solidarity, Albanese stated, “Nobody stepped back and nobody was left behind.”
Expressing confidence in the new generation of representatives, Albanese concluded his statement by saying, “And our newest Federal Labor Party members, who make up the class of 25, have carried these values forward and worked tirelessly for Australians across the country.”
