Albares: We call for de-escalation and dialogue
Madrid, March 13 (Hibya) - Spain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation Jose Manuel Albares stated that during his meeting with his Kuwaiti counterpart they discussed the oil export crisis in the Strait of Hormuz.
Spain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation Jose Manuel Albares made a statement regarding the content of his meeting with his Kuwaiti counterpart and the latest developments in the region.
Stating that attacks on Kuwait and issues of energy security were discussed, Albares said: “I met with my Kuwaiti counterpart to express my support in the face of the attacks his country has been subjected to and to offer condolences to the victims. We discussed the situation in the Strait of Hormuz and its consequences for oil exports.”
Referring also to logistical support processes during the meeting, Albares said: “I also thanked him for the assistance provided in the evacuation of Spaniards.”
Warning about the economic and humanitarian consequences of regional conflicts, Albares stated: “The war in the Middle East is causing Spaniards and Europeans to suffer and affecting their prosperity. We call for de-escalation and dialogue.”
