Ottawa, August 9 (Hibya) - Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand spoke about the new Strategic Exports Office, established to increase Canada's competitiveness in global markets, and the goal of doubling exports outside the United States.

Highlighting the country's position in international trade, Anand said, “Canada is ready to compete and win in the global economy. The new Strategic Exports Office will provide greater focus and coordination on major opportunities in aerospace, defence, nuclear energy and infrastructure.”
Emphasizing the role of the diplomatic network and dedicated deal teams, Anand said, “By creating dedicated deal teams and mobilizing our diplomatic network, we are putting Canadian companies in a stronger position to secure major contracts abroad.”
Anand concluded her statement by saying, “In this way, we are opening new markets, strengthening our industrial base and working to double our non-U.S. exports over the next decade.”
