Bern, January 15 (Hibya) – Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis said that the war waged by Russia against Ukraine has confronted the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) with the most serious crisis in its history.

Noting that diplomacy is more vital than ever in a world marked by rising global tensions, Cassis said: “As the OSCE Chair in 2026, Switzerland’s primary objective is clear: to contribute to a just and lasting peace in Ukraine when conditions allow.”
Cassis added: “Our guiding principles toward the OSCE are clear: inclusive dialogue, reform, and a sustainable budget that ensures the organization remains credible, effective, and able to act.”
