CENTCOM: 3,500 Marines arrive at mission location in the Middle East
Washington, March 28 (Hibya) – The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that 3,500 personnel from the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps have arrived at their mission location in the Middle East.
CENTCOM stated that U.S. Navy and Marine Corps personnel reached the area of responsibility of the Central Command aboard the USS Tripoli (LHA-7).
It was noted that the America-class amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli serves as the flagship of the Tripoli Amphibious Ready Group and the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, consisting of approximately 3,500 personnel.
The statement also said that the ship strengthens military capacity in the region with its air assets, amphibious capabilities, and tactical equipment.
