Rezaei: It is time for Iran to withdraw from the NPT
Tehran, March 28 (Hibya) – Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, stated that the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) has failed to protect the country and that it is time to withdraw.
According to CCTV, Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the committee, said it is time for his country to withdraw from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
Rezaei stated that the agreement has failed to protect Iran’s nuclear facilities from ongoing attacks by the United States and Israel, emphasizing that remaining in the agreement brings no benefit to Iran.
Arguing that relevant international documents and agreements are being ignored, Rezaei stressed that Iran has no intention of developing nuclear weapons and that this policy has not changed.
Meanwhile, the International Atomic Energy Agency reiterated its call for restraint in the Middle East following Israeli attacks on two Iranian nuclear facilities, including a uranium processing plant.
