Costa offers condolences to the people of Spain
Brussels, January 20 (Hibya) – President of the European Council Antonio Costa announced that flags at EU buildings have been lowered to half-mast following the train accident in Spain’s Adamuz region.
European Council President Antonio Costa issued a condolence message after the train accident in Spain, stating that the European Union stands with the Spanish people.
Announcing that flags were lowered in memory of those who lost their lives in the accident, Costa said: “The flags at the European Council buildings have been lowered to half-mast as a sign of mourning for the victims of the tragic train accident in Adamuz and as a gesture of solidarity with the people of Spain.”
Emphasizing that Europe stands united with Spain in these difficult times, Costa stated: “We are with you in these days of sorrow.”
