President of the European Council Antonio Costa reiterated the European Union's determination to strengthen relations, stating that the EU and Türkiye are strategic partners.

Noting that regional issues and strategic steps were discussed during the meeting, Costa said, "Mr. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, thank you for your warm welcome in Ankara. The EU and Türkiye are strategic partners, and we are determined to strengthen our relationship. In an increasingly challenging world, our partnership is more important than ever."

Referring to Türkiye's role in regional crises and the Cyprus issue, Costa said, "Türkiye has been an important partner in addressing the crises in the Middle East and in supporting efforts toward a just and lasting peace in Ukraine."

Costa concluded his remarks by saying, "We should also assess the renewed momentum for resolving the Cyprus issue through the UN-led process."
