Costa: The EU will emerge from this process stronger and more sovereign
Brussels, January 21 (Hibya) – President of the European Council Antonio Costa drew attention to the geopolitical challenges facing Europe, stressing that despite the difficulties, the Union will emerge from these crises strengthened.
European Council President Antonio Costa made statements on Europe’s current global position and the strategic threats it faces.
Referring to the geopolitical landscape Europe is in, Costa said: “Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine; the weakening of the rules-based international order; the questioning of fundamental alliances. These are serious challenges.”
Despite all these pressures, delivering an optimistic message about the future of the European Union, Costa stated: “However, the EU will emerge from this process stronger, more resilient and more sovereign.”
