Tajani: State of emergency declared for Sicily, Calabria and Sardinia
Rome, January 21 (Hibya) – Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani announced that a state of emergency has been declared for Sicily, Calabria and Sardinia due to Storm Harry.
Tajani stated that he is closely monitoring the effects of Storm Harry, which has hit the south and the islands.
Noting that the Italian government has declared a state of emergency for Sicily, Calabria and Sardinia, Tajani said: “I am in contact with Presidents Schifani, Occhiuto and Todde. We are ready to provide all necessary support to evacuated families and those affected.”
Tajani added that they will propose activating the European Solidarity Fund and expressed his gratitude to the Civil Protection Department, the Fire Brigade and all rescue teams.
