Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic held a meeting with European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos.

Plenkovic said the meeting took place as part of the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs’ Annual Conference of Ambassadors, an event also attended by consuls general, consuls and military representatives.

The continuation of the European Union enlargement process was the main item on the agenda.

The situation in Southeast Europe and the importance of candidate countries meeting the necessary criteria to make progress in the EU accession process were also discussed.

Plenkovic said it was emphasized during the meeting that candidate countries’ progress in the membership process is directly linked to their fulfillment of the established criteria.
