Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with Hungarian Foreign Minister Anita Orban on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.

According to a statement from Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dar congratulated Orban on her new appointment and wished her success during her tenure. The meeting discussed further strengthening relations between the two countries and enhancing cooperation in the political, economic, trade and investment, business, education and people-to-people fields.

The ministers emphasized the importance of maintaining regular bilateral consultation mechanisms in order to preserve the momentum in bilateral relations. They also exchanged views on regional and international developments.

Dar stated that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable path to overcoming challenges and highlighted the importance of all parties returning to the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The two sides agreed to maintain close contact on bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
