Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said the IDF had recently neutralized the head of Hamas's financial unit in Khan Younis. Katz praised the IDF and Shin Bet for the operation and their actions against Hamas operatives.

Katz said Hamas commanders and operatives would continue to be targeted, the organization's sources of financing would continue to be struck, and what he described as terrorist infrastructure would continue to be destroyed.

Emphasizing that they would not allow Hamas to regain strength, Katz said, “We will not allow Hamas to regain strength, and we will not stop until Hamas's presence in Gaza comes to an end.”
