The STOXX Europe 600 index was recorded at 644.74 points, Germany's DAX index at 25,622.61 points and France's CAC 40 index at 7,956.70 points.
In the United Kingdom, the FTSE 100 index rose 41.55 points, or 0.38%, to 10,881.90 points. In Italy, the FTSE MIB index climbed 459.63 points, or 0.93%, to 49,857.18 points.
