Sanchez: Rescue operations underway amid heavy rainfall in Valencia and Alicante
Madrid, October 19 (Hibya) - Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced that emergency teams are carrying out operations to rescue people stranded following heavy rainfall in the Valencia region.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez stated that the situation in the Valencia region had become increasingly complicated due to heavy rainfall in recent hours, particularly along Valencia's southern coast and in northern Alicante.
Sanchez said that Spain's Military Emergency Unit (UME) had been deployed to the area to cooperate with emergency response teams and that operations were underway to rescue people stranded in hard-to-reach locations.
Calling on residents to remain where they are and stay on the upper floors of buildings, Sanchez urged citizens to follow information provided through official channels during emergencies and to exercise caution.
