Fletcher: This is a time of inhumanity, impunity and cruelty
New York, March 7 (Hibya) - United Nations (UN) Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher emphasized that the UN was established for such moments of crisis, drawing attention to violence around the world and weaknesses in international cooperation.
UN Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Fletcher described today’s world as “a time of inhumanity, impunity and cruelty.” Fletcher said: “People spend more energy and money finding ways to kill one another rather than protecting themselves from our worst instincts. The foundations of international cooperation are beginning to crack.”
Fletcher stated that the UN was established for such difficult and chaotic periods and called for strengthening the solidarity and coordination of the international community.
