United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres made remarks regarding rights violations and humanitarian crises.

Speaking about the current situation, Guterres said, “Human rights are under full-scale attack around the world. These attacks are happening before our eyes and are often led by those with the greatest power.”

Emphasizing that human rights are not merely a temporary slogan, Guterres stated, “Human rights are not a slogan for good times. They are obligations that must always be fulfilled.”

Guterres concluded his remarks by saying, “Even if it is difficult and costly, we must stand by them.”
