Ireland's Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade, and Defence, Harris, stated that he condemns the attacks, violence, and killings of civilians in Western Syria, emphasizing that the Syrian people have been suffering from horrific hardships for too long.

He stressed that interim authorities must ensure the protection of civilians regardless of faith or ethnicity and hold those responsible accountable:

“The establishment of an independent investigative committee is a welcome development. There should be no impunity. Ireland calls for a peaceful and inclusive transition led by Syria, guaranteeing full protection of human rights for all Syrians.”
