United Kingdom Defence Secretary John Healey emphasized that soldiers have the right to live in housing with high living standards in return for their service to the country, drawing particular attention to projects in the Woolwich area.

Referring to the sacrifices made by the armed forces, Healey said, “Our Armed Forces and their families give so much while serving this country. When they return from duty, they deserve to come home to a place they can be proud of.”

Providing information on the scope of the housing projects being carried out, Healey stated, “That is exactly what we are delivering, especially in Woolwich for personnel returning from their duties in Cyprus.”
