According to CCTV, Baqaei said that Iran continues to review the latest peace proposal conveyed by the United States and that a response has not yet been finalized.

Speaking to Iran’s official news agency IRNA, Baqaei stated that message exchanges between the parties are continuing through Pakistani mediation. He said that during the talks, Tehran’s 14-point plan aimed at ending the war with the US and Israel was discussed, noting that the plan had previously been conveyed to Washington.

Baqaei also stated that the US had presented its own assessments in response to Iran’s proposal within the framework of a plan, adding that Iran continues to examine the proposal and that the response will be delivered through Pakistan after a decision is made.

The statements came after a report by Al Arabiya, citing a Pakistani source, claiming that Iran could convey its response through Pakistan on Thursday. The report also alleged that certain understandings had been reached regarding the easing of the US naval blockade in exchange for the gradual reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

Reports in the US media a day earlier had claimed that the Washington administration was close to a memorandum of understanding based on Iran’s 14-point proposal.

Iran, the US and Israel reached a ceasefire on April 8, after clashes that began with US-Israeli attacks on Tehran and other Iranian cities at the end of February and lasted more than 40 days. Following the ceasefire, the parties held talks on April 11-12 in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad, but no agreement was reached.

Meanwhile, Baqaei stated that the final authority in all state decisions lies with religious leader Mojtaba Khamenei, emphasizing that no step is taken without his approval.

Iranian parliament member Behnam Saeidi, on the other hand, argued that no uranium had been removed from the country under any circumstances. Saeidi said that uranium enrichment activities, the complete lifting of sanctions, and the release of Iran’s frozen assets are “red lines” for Tehran.

Saeidi’s remarks drew attention when he described US claims that 400 kilograms of uranium had been removed from Iran as “political nonsense and completely fabricated.” US President Donald Trump had stated on Wednesday that the enriched uranium would be taken by the United States.
