Iranian Religious Leader Khamenei Met with Tajikistan President Rahmon
Tehran, July 31 (Hibya) - Iranian Religious Leader Ali Khamenei met with Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, Khamenei emphasized that Iran's fundamental policy and priority is to expand relations with regional countries, especially those with which it shares a language, culture, history, and religion.
Khamenei regarded the exchange of visits between officials of the two countries as a basis for expanding cooperation, saying: "Persian is an important common language shared by Iran, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan. We must strengthen cooperation to preserve and promote this language and counter efforts to isolate it."
At the end of the meeting, Khamenei noted that there are opponents to expanding relations between Iran and Tajikistan and stressed the necessity of developing a strategy to effectively address these challenges.
Tajikistan President Rahmon, referring to his meetings with Pezeškiyan, said: "As you pointed out a few years ago, our countries are similar, and we aim to expand our relations further and benefit from Iran's experiences and advancements in science, health, and industry."
