Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

According to a statement by the Irish Foreign Ministry, a bill is being drafted in this regard, though such legislation would be unprecedented among European Union countries. However, the measure would be largely symbolic, as imports—mainly fruits, vegetables, and timber—were valued at less than one million euros between 2020 and 2024.

The International Court of Justice in The Hague ruled last year that Israel’s occupation of the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza Strip is illegal. The Irish government believes it is obliged to comply with international law and ban imports from those territories.

Foreign Minister Simon Harris expressed hope that other countries will follow Ireland’s lead, which recognized the State of Palestine last year alongside Norway, Spain, and Slovenia. French President Emmanuel Macron also announced that he will soon recognize Palestine.

At a press conference in Dublin where the bill was introduced, Harris stated, “I hope the decision of a small European state to legislate on this matter will encourage others to do the same.”

The European Union announced last week that it will review its 30-year trade agreement with Israel. Foreign Affairs Commissioner Kaja Kallas said most countries support this move and that it could increase pressure on the Israeli government.
